A skinning knife is a swordsmanship weapon. What is your skill, and what weapons skill is your opponent defending with?

If your opponent is unarmed then he will defend with wrestling. His skill must be enough to chalenge your skill level. If you have no chance of missing him, then you cannot gain combat skill.

Tactics should have potential for gain whenever you do damage. Make sure your skills aren't capped out.
