Wilderness Guard Towers

I've been going over the Google Groups discussions and here is some of the old information I've found about guards being in the guard towers out in the wilderness.

This first one is from October 21, 1998.

Those things are strange. Sometimes they have guards sometimes they don't.
Also sometimes the guards are there and do nothing. Other times they
teleport to kill up to 3 screens away. I am really confused about those
places, especially the one right above Orc Valley.
What it looks like to me from the discussions I've read, is that while the guard towers may not have been official guard zones, they actually had town guards that spawned in them that would kill when they saw criminal acts or murderers and could be called if they hear someone calling guards just like normal.

I remember wildness guard towers being guardzone. I got smacked at one on my statloss chasing someone.

I am surprised anyone is even questioning that these guard towers were not guarded...

Does nobody remember utilizing these zones on Santa's Sleigh or Abyss?

Lots of people say they were unguarded in every thread on this subject. Its about 50/50, hence why I did the research and made this thread.

I played before T2A and during T2A, never UOR.

the guard towers were DEFINITELY zoned, which i brought up in the original guard zone post a few days ago.

I def. got guard whacked MANY times while chasing people down a dirt path on atlantic, only to run past a guard tower.

How is this even up for debate? Did anyone here actually play OSI?

People are only going to argue against this becaue it will be harder to lure the order guards away to train on.

guess what, boo-hooooo, it's t2a accurate.

Definitely guarded. Used to lure Shadowclan orcs there on Cats tog et them to get whacked. (At the one South of Yew).

Old post, but I realized today that they are still not guarded on this server.

I believe that this is one of the most important accuracy's to to be corrected. Just curious why it has yet to be corrected?

Yeah I used to run like a chicken to the guard tower between the Brit X roads and Orc Fort all the time. I'd also steal stuff out of chests at guard towers... and often get whacked!

I personally don't remember them being guarded, I remember attacking the guards and they would not "insta whack" like in town and instead chase me. But yes they would insta-kill if you got close to them.


Maybe it was different on certain shards? I played LS.
