Fishing success

Post by Daolin »

I'm trying to get an idea for how many t-maps and MIB's are actually fished up in an hour. If you're interested in contributing, do the following:

1. Use a GM Fisher and fish for at least 1 hour (important this is accurate).
2. Record how many serps, t-maps and MIB's were caught.
3. Report it in this thread.
4. Success!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Data:
  • 3 serps, 2 maps, 2 mibs
  • 1 serp, 4 maps, 1 mib
  • 3 serps, 5 maps, 1 mib
  • 0 serps, 0 maps, 3 mibs
  • 3 serps, 1 map, 2 mibs
  • 5 serps, 2 maps, 1 mib -- dog1706
  • 4 serps, 2 maps, 2 mibs -- Raja
  • 7 serps, 5 maps, 1 mib
  • 5 serps, 1 map, 1 mib
  • 2 serps, 2 maps, 2 mibs
  • 0 serps, 2 maps, 0 mibs
  • 2 serps, 1 map, 2 mibs
  • 2 serps, 1 map, 1 mib
  • 2 serps, 0 maps, 3 mibs -- Raja
  • 3 serps, 1 maps, 1 mib -- Dagon
  • 1 serp, 1 map, 3 mibs -- Dagon
  • 4 serps, 0 map, 3 mibs -- Dagon
  • 5 serps, 1 map, 1 mib -- Dagon
  • 5 serps, 2 maps, 2 mibs -- Dagon
  • 3 serps, 3 maps, 3 mibs -- Raja
  • 6 serps, 1 map, 2 mibs -- Raja
  • 1 serps, 2 map, 0 mibs -- Thesbus
Current Hourly Avg:
  • 2-3 serps
  • 2-3 maps
  • 1-2 mibs

It should be also noted how you are fishing, since it [might] still matter how many casts you are making, etc.

Generally when I'm fishing I cast every 8 seconds, and moving the boat when no fish are biting and fighting serpents melee take up time also.

I just started going, so I'll fish for an hour exactly and report back the results.

Fished for exactly 1 hour last night

5 serps
2 maps
1 mib

just an unlucky hour for me.

I think the norm is 2 mibs for an hour worth of fishing. 3 nights ago, I pulled 3 mibs in 40 min. Really just luck.

That is fine. I normally fish every 8 seconds, but it seemed like it moved to 9 seconds since the patch. Maybe this is due to lag. I'll try 8 seconds again.

I kill the serpents as well. I figure people should be killing them within a timely manner. I realize there is going to be some error built in. There are too many variables to control. We can, however, get close enough to see how things work.

I don't know for sure what I just had, 2 or 3 mibs and a map or two, I can't be sure because I wasn't paying attention and a serp killed me, and after I rezzed I accidently cut my body (again) before getting my loot and lost all my shit with the RIDICULOUSLY INACCURATE 30 SECOND DECAY TIME! I'm rather pissed. The notes CLEARLY say PLAYER BONES are 7 minutes for decay. FUCK!

If you have data that follows the rules listed in the original post, then reply here and i'll upload it. Make sure it is just a random hour and not your best hour :p

any way you can split that up to hour by hour?

I've had some terrible fishing success lately but I think its because I'm trying to run 3 fishers now. I have 2 in training and they make be blocking some of my main fisher's success. I'll be able to post results again once they GM

Noticed you merged my 4 sea serps and 1 deep sea serp into 5 serps.. i certainly dont mind but i specified it for accuracy.

ever since the mib/tmap change a patch or two ago "deep" sea serpents are much more rare, certainly do not get them as often as before the patch. no big deal but for accuracy sake they do more damage, are harder to kill, and drop more loot (at least 2x as much gold on average). id guesstimate that before the patch deep sea serps were 1:5 with regular serps, now they are like 1:30.. its odd.
