Communication Crystals

So I saw where it was stated that the Comm Crystals needed to be fixed before removing Party and Guild chat.
So what is wrong with the Comm Crystals? I got them working just fine today.

They do work, but they are Broadcast and Receiver, not two way devices. They should only come in one variety.

Oh I always remembered them being two different crystals and if you wanted to have two way communication you just had to carry two. One broadcast and one Recieve.

Shouldn't communication crystals have a radiant glow?
