Life bar not green when poisoned

Found some things that point towards the life bar not going "green" when poisoned in era.

Image
With regard to poisoning monsters, the only way to see if you have managed
is to hit them a few times, back off a little way, hide, and see if their
health bar continues to drop even when you're not hitting them.
This meaning as well that monsters did not have a poisoning emote above them when poisoned.

This is definitely an issue that needs to be looked at on the demo to see if this pre-dates it. The screenshot above pre-dates January '99 due to the fact it's a field spell inside of town. This ability was removed in early '99.

Batlin comes to the aid as helpful as always.

The demo shows your character's bar poisoned, but anyone else that is poisoned doesn't show up.

We need to try finding when this implementation went in for other life bars while poisoned. We know that it dates past mid '98 for sure now though.

Could this be it?:

Target status gumps now display when the target is poisoned

It could be that the poison was either ineffective while in town but bugged tp show otherwise or that it had been cured while the paraphrase was hanging that the target was indeed effected but cured.
A video would be more comprehensible then a photo to really validate this.

The photo validates it, it fits in with that players statement from Jan 99 (which led me to look into this) and now the demo did!

This does sound like it nails down the implementation of this feature. It would likely require a client patch to see green on the single bar gump.

Any other collaborating evidence on the introduction of this feature at this specific patch would me nice. But it's my recollection as well that the only indication someone else was poisoned was the words above their head.

I think Batlin has pretty much wrapped this topic up with demo and patch confirmation. Personal bars should turn your blue hp bar green and non-personal bars of other players should show up blue with only the poison spasm messages appearing.

Green bar must have been implemented much earlier than the patch note I found.

I took this screenshot on the test server running Client 4.0.11f (Patch 48).

Unless the color of the bar is controlled by the server?

In either case:

If it's the client that implements the color, there must be a packet that tells the client "target X is (not) poisoned, there must a way to disable this packet being send then.

If it's the server that sends the color of the bar to the client then it can be changed too.

Verifying if a follower's(summon/pet) bars turn green is a very worth while cause to look into for this topic.

If anyone gets a chance to test this on demo (pets), please let me know what you find.
