When you ban someone from your house, it should only ban the character, not the whole account.

Thoughts?

If we continue to use the older house system it should be just the character instead of the account.

Nope... it was by account since May 1999.

* House bans of players will now be by account instead of by character. All current players you have in your ban lists will still be banned, but it will not automatically convert them to account bans--you will need to reban them for their whole account to be banned.

* All house deeds (redeeded, bought, existing, new, whatever) will remain with the ghost when you die, and will not be stealable.
It's pretty clear why they made it account level. It prevents your 'friends' from casing the joint and trying to grief you with another of their characters from the same account.

Also note, since MAY 1999 deeds were newbied. Please fix.

May is the design date and November is the publish date of the patch if I am not mistaken...

I can't really investigate this further due to the firewall here at work blocking the sites. However, from the cached sources of the UO update site it looks like the design date is in May and the actual patch date is November 16th, 1999.

I would personally prefer ban by character rather than account, but its an era accurate issue. If deeds became newbified at the same time as bans were per account, i don't think we should be 'picking and choosing' which parts of the update to keep and which to ignore.

Patch 22 is a myth.

I've tried to argue that patch and gave up.
