as for your question, they work on monsters well, but the spell is easily resisted by players, i've put on mana drain jewelry to help with gm'ing med a while back, and let me tell you, that things works, drained my mana to zero everytime i put it on. so yes and no, works well on monsters, but not so much on players, and on second note, mana vampire (i haven't tested it for myself) but during my OSI uo experience, it didn't work at all then. hope this helps.

well these spells should work for pvp as well.. i don't know exact calculations but, 100 mage/eval vs. 0/low resist should return a heap of mana from mana vamp, & should drain a good bit with mana drain..

Actually i was having the same questions about those spells myself as i tried them and noticed the weird behavior those spells had.

i kinda agree with you that those spells should works in pvp , but again maybe a high resist just totally counter this spell ?

i'd like to know how the spell is supose to work if anyone does know.

I know how they work, I just don't know -if- they are working, and if so, correctly. A high resist skill will counter both spells pretty well, but it shouldn't be 100%

It reads in the T2A playguide that both of these spells are "highly resistable" which seems accurate from what you are reporting.

Cool, I don't really care about drain but vampire comes in handy when your opponent has low resist, especially when hes a dexxer..

Yeah cause dexxers cast a lot of spells.

The spell costs 40 mana to cast, and dexxers have no more than 25-30 usually at most.

Great return for your investment there.

yea i got kinda stupid on that one, my smith has 100 int im not sure why i thought all dexxers had 100 int

but it was still an effective spell if you knew your opponent had low resist, even for just mana drain
