I remember always running into red mage tents, at least on Lake Superior. It would be kinda like an orc camp, but it would be a tent with a treasure box and around 4-5 red mages in it.
The mages would be in red robes and have red names (kinda like the evil mages in the dungeons)

There are mage camps here, but not the tent kind. It is the ones that spawn with the blood tile.

ran into one of these the other day
got the 2 blood tiles but they decayed in my bank box 8(
