Armor for bard/mage spec?

Hello I have a few quick questions.

I have a bard/mage with no weapon skills. I have mage/med/eval/resist/wrestling/music/provo.

So I rely very heavily on magic in both pvm and pvp. Should I be wearing a set of leather armor? How much will it slow down the meditation rate? Will leather armor even be enough to make a noticeable difference in melee dmg taken?

I find that leather armor REALLY kills mana regen. I personally wear none.

Agreed, even 1 piece of leather will completely kill your passive regen.

Just stay away from armor, always keep magic reflect up, and cast protection on yourself (its +10 armor.)

Can anyone confirm that protection (spell or item charges) affects mana regeneration or not?

Actually if you do a UOSA search on mana regeneration you can find the information you seek. Leather armor doesn't kill passive meditation rates just slows it down. I am too lazy to look it up for you but there is a page dedicated to it.
