Hi Everyone

Post by lawn elder »

I just joined a couple of days ago and am macroing up my mule. I have a couple questions for all of you shard vets. 1.)Do semi-rares spawn in shopkeepers containers? 2.) Is Gm'ing taming viable at the moonglow zoo? anyone done it? what animals did you use for what levels. I know there is a guide for animal taming but I am asking specificly for the zoo. 3.) I seem to be having some trouble releasing tamed animals with the all release comand, what's up with this?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, and I look forward to meeting you guys in game.

Not sure about the rares.

No I very seriously doubt GMing taming at the zoo is even possible, or efficient if it was.

Also, all release works fine for me. What's your lore? I know there was a bug awhile back related to that. Not sure what's going on there though.

Rare spawn throughout the world but I doubt semi-rares spawn in containers. I haven't seen any yet.

Welcome to Second Age.

The release command should be exempted from any loyalty checks. If this happens again please page and we'll try to figure out what's going on.

It took me a couple weeks of macroing on UO Redemption, a couple of years ago. As I remember it there was no guard wack on pets getting attacked by untamed monsters, this made sure there was always a fresh supply of animals to tame, the only issue we had was griefers throwing purple potions for the hell of it. I suppose it makes it a more valuable skill if you have to do it by hand, also I don't think it could be done on the orig. even without any hassle from osi or whoever was running the show at that point.

My lore is next to nil, this is a fresh toon I'm talking about.

thanks for the responses :D

Moonglow Zoo has a pretty low efficiency for raising Taming. You'd be better off camping Ice Isle untill you're about 73, then moving onto bulls & giant toads untill you can tame Drakes. From there you can goto Wind and hide behind town walls and GM taming, granted you have the required magery to get inside..

Yes semi rares do spawn here in the locked gold boxes in vendor shops, you need lockpicking to pick em, and no need to steal em just take em ;p

Hmm I've picked quite a few of those and haven't found anything except gold and 1 or 2 junk items. The only semi-rare I found was just behind an oven on the ground in Occlo.
how does I bought horse?

Your not looking in the right places, many of the spawns are era accurate: Dried herbs spawn in the locked strong box in the Moonglow Herbalist Shop, its not 100% guarunteed to have one everytime, but go a few times per day and you'll get them. (The herbs used to spawn in the crates that are locked down in the shop and you had to steal them out)
Also copper/gold/silver/dark wires spawn in the armories/weaponsmiths around brit
And the stacked ingot looking thingys spawn in some blacksmith shops
edit: BTW the jars u found at occlo i beleive to be real rares, not semis (if it was the jars)

This is a List of Semi-Rares I've discovered (so far):
gold/bronze/steel wire
Forged Metal
Steel Ingots

Anyone's welcome to add to this list. I don't expect you to tell where exactly you got it from, but it's fun to know whats all out there.
