Can anyone eat from a stack of locked down fish steaks?

I was thinking about locking down a stack of fish steaks in my vendor house for people to snack on while they browse. There's no way I could ever sell them all. Would anyone be able to eat from a locked down stack of fish steaks in a public house?

are you sure about this? i grub locked down food all the time, even houses that aren't public or friended to.

really? you sure its locked down? ... maybe for some reason I recall not being able to do this, I as well will be looking into it haha

Could this be the reason all rune libraries that used to have apples to symbolize stables don't any more? ;)
