I am glad of this shard.

It has given me the opportunity to achieve all of those things that I never could on OSI, in-era, either because OSI trammelled them out, post-t2A, or because the contemporary player-base had already out-competed me.

UOSA does not, necessarily, represent "perfect UO", but it's pretty darn close: t2A was the era in which new mechanics like Meditation augmented character development, and delivered the long-overdue death-knell-nerf to the overpowered TankMage; UO later introduced further refinements (Nox mages and Lumberwarriors) but, unfortunately, packaged them with Trammel, and other crap ...

I continue to feel sincere and profound support for this shard's vision of mechanical era-accuracy (and, yes, there have been disputes, and I do not retract any of my own opinions): UOSA is no more flawed (and, in many respects, less flawed) than t2A; the staff have been faithful to their mandate.

Gee, I'd love to have the t2A ruleset, supplemented by Nox Mages and Lumberwarriors, Discordance and targeted Peacemaking, and a few other goodies ... but not at the required cost. UOSA, please stay up, and don't change.

For the staff in particular: in all dealings, you have been courteous and professional, and much more accessible than anyone at OSI ever was; you don't deserve the crap we heap on you ... Thanks.

As for Derrick: well, it is only because of Derrick that any of this is here ... How can one quantify, much less qualify, that?
