UO Second Age

As I am training one of my guys it came to me that whether or not you succeed in your spell you gain in magery. So would it be faster to cast the higher level spells as soon as possible to get more casts in to get faster gains. It seems to me that the more you cast the faster you would gain (theoretically). Therefor, if you cast and fizzle more you should gain faster because you don't have to wait for mana to replenish. I know that at 8th circle you would use a whole lot more regs than the traditional way. But you may not use as many or use the same amount because you would be casting more often and theoretically gain faster because you don't have to wait for mana.
What do you think?

From a reg use standpoint you'd burn more on 8th. It doesn't matter that you're casting faster...

Also, most people train resist and magery, where it actually makes sense to go over the threshold a bit. For instance, I think I usually cast 4th circle lightning into the 60s and then ebolt till about 72 or higher if I've got a stockpile of regs. Then fs till gm...

Also, I think the chance for gain is higher on success than failure, but I'd need that confirmed. So, no. Your idea sux.
