UO Second Age

Hello!

I have decided to try out UOSA and I can't get past the character creation screen. Once I complete my character and click next to go to the next screen, my computer freezes and says "Not Responding" at the top. My cursor then turns into an hourglass.

Someone please help!!! I am running on Windows 8.

Make sure you're running the uo client and razor as administrator? I know that's a common fix.

I've done that with both UO and Razor. Nothing. It still freezes when I try to get past the character creation screen or if I try to go the Tutorial route.

Try putting both UO and Razor in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP SP3.

I am not entirely sure how to do that. Also, I was just able to sign into UO Hybrid just fine. Not sure why it isn't recognizing this login.

to run in a compatibility mode, right click the desktop icon, properties, on the top tab click compatibility, check the box "Run this program in compatibility mode for" then select windows xp service pack 3.

I'm having this problem right now and none of the solutions worked . If there is any more info, i would be grateful .

I had to make my characters in the non Razor UO. Then close out and start razor UO. Everytime I tried to make a char in razor UO it would lock up.

With non-standard installs i vaguely recall there being issues starting anywhere but Britain as well.

It will say that the program not responding before starting area is selected.
It happens right after I create the character and press the little green arrow.

I'm not quite sure how to create a character without razor.

If you have a previous UO installed try uninstalling it and using the one on the website. Incorrect maps can cause tons of issues. Only thing i can think of that hasn't been mentioned.

Reinstalled and still the same thing , I can play every other shard but this one for some reason .
