Could some of you Vet treasure hunters clear a few things up for me?

1. What levels of maps are those that come from a lvl 4 lockpicking chest?

2. Is it true that the person that decodes a map must also be the person who digs it up?

Map level varies, typically lvl 3-5 and yes, the toon that decodes it is the one that must dig it up.

I found a level 2 map in a Lvl 4 dungeon chest just this week, so I'm confident it's at least 2-4. I also have memory from a few months ago of getting a few level 1 maps too, but this is just memory so could be wrong. To date, I've never got a level 5 map from a dungeon chest.

1. i think lvl 1-5...may be mistaken but im almost positive i have gotten a 5 before and a lvl 1..could be wrong tho but i thot i have thru the years

Make sure that it wasn't a lower level chest that spawned that yielded that level 1 map. There are a few spawn points where a lower level chest will spawn instead of the supposed lvl 4 chest.

I've found between levels 2 through 5 (I've had two maps at the same time as well.)

Never seen a level 1 spawn, but I would think it might still be possible, just not probable.
