Did you let the properties fall or just take them down?
We, as a guild, decided to drop them in direct response to the Staff's mishandling of the Guild Town Add-Ons.
We, as a guild, had opened our doors to the public for CTF's, Paintball, Duels, Crafting Tourneys, Russian Roulette, Scavenger Hunts, Mysteries, Rune Libraries, etc....for over 4 years. We were working on new recruits. We had a slew of events planned for the winter, as that was when we had more time to devote to playing. We had just redecorated the ENTIRE guild town and replaced the Inn that had been in limbo. We had just re-acquired the small house next to the guild hall after a year of a player holding it over our heads and us trying to get it. We had added more runes to the library. We had ran several smaller events, some through the forums, some through IRC, and some strictly via in-game meetings of people adventuring in the world. In the same month, the Staff started deleting our town add-ons without warning and with no attempt to contact the Guildmaster of the guild. Being that I am the Guildmaster of the guild, they had zero excuses as i'm not exactly a mysterious secretive person that can't be contacted or located.
We, as a guild, got angry and decided that a Staff that would so carelessly and inconsiderately delete the history behind so many former guild members, spin-off guilds, shard events, PvP, training of new players, new player housing, and 1000's of hours of combined play time didn't deserve to have us pouring our time in to the shard anymore. I was willing to stick it out, but the rest of the guild voted to have no confidence in the Staff and moved on. I chose to not try to keep it all going on my own.
As such, DG Town, a staple of the UOSA landscape for over 4 years is no more.
