This house has sold twice for 1 mil gold. One by Vega to Metastasis, and once from Metastasis to Boone. See the following links for evidence of this claim:

Past sales have no effect on current or future housing costs. You bought it in the UO housing bubble now you are underwater like homeowners irl. The laws of economics apply to virtual economies too. Housing is driven by location and/or population actually playing the game needing the house. Neither apply here. Drop it and go back to WoW.

Holy smokes that was an unwarranted and hostile response. And also incorrect. Past sales of property are indeed one of many factors one should consider when buying or selling real estate. That being said, the starting bid of this home is less than 50% of its previous sales. If that's not compensating for a slower market I'm not sure what is.

I didn't buy this house by the way. Your assertation is founded on a false assumption.

Past sales can tell future sellers/buyers/filppers what kind of demand there is out there for that particular house/location. There are many instances where someone who really wanted the house before didn't get it due to numerous factors.
A potential buyer can get an idea if it has some resell value short and long term. Things can obviously change very quickly especially in a virtual economy. But I wouldn't go as far as "no effect on current or future housing costs".
