Needed: One badass lumberjack template

Yeah I know, being a lumberjack has no affect on combat skills here. But I just like wandering around the wilderness cutting down trees, you know?

So when two PKs approach me then laugh and think I'm an easy target, I can just start cutting one of them down, and the other will be like "whoa that's some badass lumberjack" and run off.

So anyone care to suggest a decent template for this kind of character? I'm already leveling resisting spells.

Lumberjacking/Swords/Tactics/Anatomy/Resist/Magery/Eval

The above seems about right...or....

Lumberjacking
Magery (to recall and keep spell reflection up at all times)
Resist (as to endure the spell dump the two PK's precasted off screen for you, if you endure...recall)
Wrestling (to recall easier under fire)
Hiding (if on a horse, I'd suggest dipping off maybe around the nearest home...then recall)
Tracking (to see if anyone is coming after you...if so...recall)
Carpentry (work on this after you recall)

I so very much wish Derrick decided to include Lumberjacking damage bonus on this shard, but alas, since its not, this is my fool proof template.

Please note that this is for a lumberjack in the scenario you described above. The fool proof "anti-PK" lumberjacker. :P

Thanks for the suggestions for this odd request!
Budner - sounds pretty standard, what kind of STR/DEX/INT stats would you go for?
inkognito - Interesting, but I would like to put up more of a fight rather than hiding away! Are there any other tactics/skills I can use that might surprise PKs in a fight (assuming its 1 v 1 or 1 v 2)? Poisoning etc? It's been awhile since I played UO, so I'm not sure of the best tactics to use.

I would go 100 STR/75 DEX/50 INT

If they are bad PK's, then any basic hally mage template will do for this shard. 1v1 would be much easier of course and surprise would probably be you whipping out a Hally and going full out PvP on your assailant. You could keep a halberd on the ready and just switch out your axe for a halberd.

The typical Halberd Mage:
GM Swords
GM Tactics
GM Anatomy
GM Magery
GM Evaluate Intelligence
GM Wrestling
GM Resist

So you will want to switch out eval or wrestling perhaps for lumberjacking.

IF there are 2 half decent PK's on your trail and you don't have any back up inbound, you're either spinning your wheels until you decide to recall, or you are damn good PvPer and thus don't need any help from the likes of me. :P
Note: The average PK'er on this shard is coming in ready for a fight and if they are hunting lumberjacks...they are even more bloodthirsty (bored) and eager for a kill. You're going to have to be more of a PvPer in disguise as a lumberjack instead of a humble lumberjack fighting for his honor.

Resist? People kill lumberjackers?

Awesome, I've copied this down, should be enough to go on for now!

Yes, if only! IIRC the reason was because it was added just after T2A? That's a shame. But maybe one day.. Beware of the lumberjacks

Well, it's a good disguise if my profile says GM Lumberjack. Damn, shouldn't of posted it here! ;) Beware also, the beggar of doom.

Swords, Anat, Tactics. From my experience it only takes one hit from a hally to send the sh*t PKs on this shard running away with piss running down their pants when they attack someone they think will be a helpless victim.

Only problem I see with any of these builds or a lumberjack fighting back in general is the fact that you won't be mounted. Being on foot will put you at a huge disadvantage. Unless you're going to have a mount always tagging behind you, but even then you'll be fighting of any and everything to keep your mount alive.

I'll call my mount "a horse" and leave it far away from me.. then after killing the first pker, retreat to my mount, the second pker will be shocked and dazed but still try to chase me down halfheartedly, but I'll manage to get on my horse just in time to turn around and smack the 2nd PKer in his face, he will again be shocked and try to retreat before I mow him down.

Very inspirational! :D

Very inspirational indeed!

You make this all seem so easy and I hate to say it but some of the best pvpers on the shard (not claiming to be one myself) will be heavily strapped to PvP on foot against a mounted pk. Hope you don't get disgruntled with this build. Its nice to be able to defend yourself but without lumberjacking being viable for PvP I'd just leave it to a mule. Most pks don't really mess with mules to much anyway. Unless they're just being a prick.
Best of luck to you though if you go through with it. At the least you'll be able to protect that horse standing off in the distance.

I would go with Budner's skill suggestion. I started out as a lumberjack/bowcrafter/archer/healer but the skill cap didn't allow for a combination of resist and hiding. You can chop trees while on a mount unless you just want to appear to be an easy target who isn't on a mount.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I'm currently playing near Vesper, will see you all around. Someone left a poisoned box in their house and it got me, tsk.
