Been a week of playing...
And so far im loving it, awesome shard, i use to play zuluhotel 8-9 years ago and the T2a rules are a lot different so im still learning a lot. But i just have a few questions to help me better understand the T2a way.
1.What do accurate power weapons and vanquishing weapons sell for on this shard?
2.I hardly ever see any archers on this shard, are they useless?
3.What are some decent ways of making money besides monsters?
4.I really suck at pvp atm, i try to practice but lose 90% of the time, when ever i try to cast paralyze warriors hit me before i even get to cast it.
5. my mage currently is magery, resist, eval intell, provoke, music, meditate (almost all gm except resist) what other skill would go with it, maybe inscription or magery?
Thanks alot. =)

1) Power and Vanquishing weapons sell for as little as 1500/2000gp to 30k. It depends on what the weapon is entirely. Halberds, Katanas, Quarterstaves, Krysses, etc are the most desirable.
2) Archery isn't useless, but it's slow. There are a few archers out and about that you'll see.
3) Crafters and treasure maps (though the latter involves killing monsters). Monsters are the main way. Oh, and escorting NPC's I suppose.
5) I'd make a new char, and use your current one as a bard. A mage without a combat skill is going to be hard to kill people with.
Anyway, good luck man! Glad you're enjoying it.

Re: Been a week of playing...
I'm new too! Well a couple weeks or so into it.
Archery is pretty useful I think, using an exceptional regular bow w/dex tactics and anatomy. I can kill dragons and everything with it. And there's no need to keep repairing your weapons/armor or take melee damage.
Bowyer with lumberjacking can make good money right from start up. Harvest wood around the moongates so you can go from town to town selling your bows to bowyers and weaponsmiths. With razor you can keep bowying while traveling, or macrojack wood and fill a packhorse with boards pretty quickly.
Question for the vets: can bows and arrows be poisoned?

Re: Been a week of playing...
No, bows or arrows cant be poisoned. And probably the only reason people have avoided archery, is because bows can't be repaired and can wear out quickly, plus arrows can be rough to keep stocked. Archery is a great skill, and I think we are seeing more as we get newer people. Most of the older people on the shard are trapped in the Tank Mage box and can't get out.

2. archery has an advantage over other weapons in that the delay timer moves down as you move, but the reason you dont see often is because u must stay still for 1 second before u shoot making it virtually useless for chasing somone, but the heavy x bow does do the most damage out of any weapon in the game. theres probably a way to utilize it rather effectively but as of now everyone goes with swords for the halberd the second highest damage weapon in the game (i beleive)MikeBeama wrote:And so far im loving it, awesome shard, i use to play zuluhotel 8-9 years ago and the T2a rules are a lot different so im still learning a lot. 3. decent ways of making money. well u can sell cotton and whool but you wont make as much as killing and looting monsters although theres no risk in it, idocs are good basicaly you camp someones decaying house and then place your own house where theres fall and put all there stuff in it or you can bring a pack horse and bring it all back to your house the only requirement is probably that you have a house, you can probably make an alchemist and sell full potion kegs, poisoning is also pretty great as you can posions 2 handed weapons you could probably poison players weapons for them for money, and you could kill other players at spawns that would work.
4. pvp i would offer to practice with you but i dont even have a pvp char yet but when i do i could help you, to be honest i dont really know exactly what to do because this shard has such diffrent mechanics to it.
5. my template is magery, meditation, hiding, provo, music, wrestling, and eval int i like it because it makes you really survivable and your bard isnt going to be nuking shit to death anyways so you dont need eval int. i suggest you dont get inscription on any character spell books are cheap and it dosent add any benefits to spell damage/ magic reflect anything. if you want to pvp than you should make a character with magery, meditation, wrestling, swordsmanship, tactics, resisting spells, and evaluating inteligence.

thats what the patch said
Re: Been a week of playing...
There's going to be a slight modification to this soon, in that weapons that are virtually beyond repair will not be considered by vendors for purchase.

So far I've made all of my money by selling logs. Recently sold 8400 for 42k and they build up very fast.MikeBeama wrote:
