Useful tip for ppl with keys locked down on their doorstep.

Post by Excretious »

Im sure widely known but if your running at your door and you hit your 'use keys/unlock/relock/ detect hidden' macro when your still a tile away from actually hitting the door, you get to bypass the 1 tick/second wait time. The actual press of the key will come in front of the action of Razor trying to use its open door function therefore bypassing the one second wait.

I usually approach my door from the side and keying my macro but I like the way this works just as much. Something that I didnt think to try before.

Razor's open door option is for amateurs. It'll get you killed in a PvP situation in a dungeon or if you're house fighting. An even better tip is to use the client macros under options in your paper doll in order to bind a key to open door. That way you'll never accidently open one up while stealthing or fighting...

Mine has always been bound to space.

The caveat to my tip is that there's a bug in the way uosa handles open door actions. It'll trigger an item use (and delay) even if there's no door in front of you...or anywhere within 10 screens. So, you still nees to be precise. Kaivan will tell you that the demo behaves this way, to which I would urge him to shove the demo up his muchacho.

It's broke dude. End of.

Yep, back when I played I was surprised how many people used that piece of crap.

Actually, no one did. It was an implementation error, and Derrick is aware of it.

Yep, I'm an idiot. My full apologies Kaivan. You can keep your muchacho clean and free of demos. (Unless you're feeling kinky)

Not a problem. I was perhaps a bit pedantic in my responses here, but it was none the less true. As for the demo, I shall keep it neatly on my desktop.

Pedantry is my modus operandi. I understood the response based on my immediate reaction. Just forgot the specifics of the conversation and assumed it was negative.
