This was hardly trash talk and banning was completely unneccessary. I was just going to bed after the last line as my "provocation" was finished. I did joke about trash talking because we were all being sarcastic about it. Friendly (-ish) discussion about on going events is *not* trash talk. Fighting over something and/or uneccessary swearing is in my opinion. Vega can also sign the fact he wasn't offended or anything.
Also, this isn't a personal attack or a flame bait (not intended as one). I just want to open discussion about where to draw the line, in my opinion this was far away from being trash talk.
Further in the subject, I don't think there even needs to be a #secondagetears or (former?) #secondagepvp or whatever. If people go out of line they can either take it into pm and/or get the boot if others in the channel start to get annoyed by them.

We cannot and should not have to determine if you or anyone is trying to rile someone up and get them to say something they shouldn't. If I don’t ban you but in turn ban someone else for saying the same thing with the only difference being the person they said it too responded less civil, then that could be viewed as favoritism. This isn't a new rule; it’s just a rule that hasn't been enforced in a while. #secondagetears has been just a /join away. It’s pretty simple, if you were crafting a forum post instead of typing on IRC it’s likely the post would be made under trash talk. Don't let me stop everyone from having a civil discussion, rules can change.

IMO didn't seem like anything I haven't seen before. I am also a gloater/enticer and will often, like most, bash a failed gank or pk attempt. Guess we got used to the government shutdown of UOSA.

Just disgruntling the remaining player base. Might have been a good idea to say you were going to enforce rules that had not been enforced in a long time before banning people. Most folks are on the edge of leaving, it doesn't take more than a nudge to push them over....

All I ever see when I go into IRC is trash talking from all the sweet hally cyclers. I don't think I've ever seen anyone banned except for racial slurs or spamming.

about the rules and where to draw the line. If you think the rules are fine as they are enforced now, that's your opinion and is welcome in this thread.
In my opinion 'trash talk' starts with name calling and ends with profanity you can't even comprehend and at that point when things get heated and they won't calm down some action should be taken. YMMV.
