Further questions for a new player

Hi,

I started some days ago and here is the next round of different questions:

1. If I do fight agaings a mob and want to heal myself. How is the total heal amout calculated. I know the formula, but I'm not sure, if it will recognice every .1 point, or is there only a change every 10 Points of Skill?
2. The same for my damage I will do with my sword. Is it calculated for every single skill gain or only in 10.0 Steps?
Eg. Does it make any difference, if I got 59.9 Sword and 60 Sword for my damage? Does every single 0.1 step count for all skills?
3. Is here a STR/DEX/INT Gain Cap every day? Will the STR/DEX/INT Stats gain faster if I raise up a new skill instead of use an old one? Is there a certain rule for gaining STR/DEX/INT?
4. Is there a skill gain calculation existing for each different mob level? I know from the OSI Shard that for ex. at sword skill of 30-50 you should do skeletts, later 80> go to shame.
Is this here the same?
5. Will my chance increase to hit the mob with my sword if I eat food?
6. What will eating stuff do to my char? What will happen If I don't do this :-D will I die? :D a joke :D
6. Will my chance increase, if I do fight easier mobs (for my exact level)
7. Is there a list existing what kind of mob to fight agianst at which level?
8. How to raise up magery fast? I got 30 in using training at the magery shop.
9. Is here a runebook available ingame? I don't think so, right?
10. If I lose my runes, I have to mark them again or? How will you do this, if you do PvP?
11. If I start with stealing. Is there the 60 skill cap to enter thiefs guild before stealing players?
12. Where are good places to go if you are a rather new player? I started at britian cem. but there where too strong mobs the last days.

cheerz & 1000 times thank you!

If I were you I'd do snooping for dex, herding for strength. (Sounds like you're making a dexxer). I'd fight a NPC hireling to gain skill personally, because it is faster.

There is I believe a 60 skill level for the thief guild, however you also have to be a certain amount of gametime played old. The other stuff I'm not sure. But if you need help and I am on IRC pm me (scurvy)

1) idk
2) idk... but this is trending and most of this can be found on UOSA's wikipedia (http://wiki.uosecondage.com/Main_Page)
3) Herding for STR, Snooping for DEX, Meditation for INT. Max cap of 225.
4) Refer to Wikipedia
5) I'm wondering the same thing.
6) You'll get fat if you eat too much. This is basic scientific knowledge.
7) If anywhere, search the forums or find it on Wikipedia (if it exists).
8) Casting on yourself. Lightning until 55. Energy bolt until 82. Flamestrike until GM.
9) There are runebooks.
10) Yes. If you lose them and get them looted, you'll need to remark them.
11) There should be something like that, which you could find on UOSA Wiki in like 5 seconds.
12) Nujel'm cemetary is probably the easiest and closest to a bank.

Rules for the shard by GuardianKnight:

The list of things you should expect and hopefully stay here after experiencing:

1. You will be pk'd in the worst possible way and if not careful, you will be looted in your house. This makes people quit.

2. You will expect people to all be sensible. They are not sensible here. They will treat you like the scum of the earth. 70% of playerbase are here for the Lulz of making you feel like crap. Please don't leave. Adapt.

3. You will get impatient and do a big deal without a broker and lose everything you worked for. You will want to quit. Don't quit.

4. cA claim to be bards, but I have never seen them use an instrument. Also they'll steal your stuff. They'll steal your stuff and then take pictures and add a pretty story to make you like them for doing it.

5. You will not find stable slots. You will have to ask people for them or buy them. This is a pain, but I hope you can adapt.

6. People can use a glitch in the code of the game to kill you in the locked doors of your house. You could be macroing afk and lose your stuff, if you are carrying it.

7. You will have to buy large property unless you attend IDOCs. The Idoc people here are professional and half of it is automated with razor. You luck is all you will have with this.

8. Vega will talk you out of your things at a discount price and you will still like him afterwards. You will hate yourself, but you'll not hate him.

9. People will tell you to join NEW. NEW is a new player guild. Don't let your ego eat you. This guild will help you get started.

10. Our staff are unpayed immigrants. We don't want to do the job, so we trapped them in a basement and made them do it. They will begrudgingly help you, sometimes. Don't let their availability dissuade you from playing. We will try our best to answer things for you in IRC.

Welcome to UOSA

create kindling with your dagger from trees or logs and use camping to raise all stats and lock them where you want them if they are low end. This is the fastest way to raise intelligence primarily but boosts str and dex too.

http://wiki.uosecondage.com/Healing

2. The same for my damage I will do with my sword. Is it calculated for every single skill gain or only in 10.0 Steps?

Every single skill gain to some extent.

Eg. Does it make any difference, if I got 59.9 Sword and 60 Sword for my damage? Does every single 0.1 step count for all skills?

yes, albeit small

3. Is here a STR/DEX/INT Gain Cap every day? Will the STR/DEX/INT Stats gain faster if I raise up a new skill instead of use an old one? Is there a certain rule for gaining STR/DEX/INT?

There is no daily cap. Stat gain is based on how frequently you gain a skill associated with that stat, so you gain more stats while raising lower skills, because they are easier at low levels to gain. Dkills also raise certain stats at different rates. Take Archaic subrosas advice on this one, it's correct.

4. Is there a skill gain calculation existing for each different mob level? I know from the OSI Shard that for ex. at sword skill of 30-50 you should do skeletts, later 80> go to shame.

Yes there is. Generally anything gets a melee skill to about 50, then maybe things like orcs and ettins can get you to the 70's. After that, bone knights and other things with higher melee skill can raise it to GM. Or just hire an NPC fighter and while you fight it, it will also gain skill, allowing you to GM from it.

Is this here the same?

yes

5. Will my chance increase to hit the mob with my sword if I eat food?

no, food only makes you full, and replenishes a tiny bit of stamina. No other benefits.

6. What will eating stuff do to my char? What will happen If I don't do this :-D will I die? :D a joke :D

Nothing

6. Will my chance increase, if I do fight easier mobs (for my exact level)

Depends on what your skill is. Every monster spawns with some range of skills. Look them up to see what their wrestling skill is, if it's close (about +/- 10 pts is best)to your weapon/melee/archery skill, you will gain from them.

7. Is there a list existing what kind of mob to fight agianst at which level?

I provided one above, or use uostratics. That info is more-or-less accurate still.

8. How to raise up magery fast? I got 30 in using training at the magery shop.

Each spell has a "circle" associated with it. Each page in the spell book is a circle. 1-8. At 30 skill you need to cast third circle spells (fireball, teleport, et al) to gain. But sometimes these take more regs, so people usually do the following: train to 30 from npc. Cast fireball to 40. Cast lightning to 60. Cast energy bolt to 71. Cast flamestrike to GM. This is the most cost-effective way.

9. Is here a runebook available ingame? I don't think so, right?

They are available, but they are NOT newbiefied/blessed.

10. If I lose my runes, I have to mark them again or? How will you do this, if you do PvP?

Keep runes in bank or at your home. Only mark 1 or 2 runes to have on you when you go out.

11. If I start with stealing. Is there the 60 skill cap to enter thiefs guild before stealing players?

yes (and it's base skill, not shown)

12. Where are good places to go if you are a rather new player? I started at britian cem. but there where too strong mobs the last days.

Jhelom cemetary is safer(right on guard zone). Brit GY is littered with wannabe PK's and bank thieves that have ventured too far north. You might try fighting things like orcs and ettins that don't cast spells at first, then move on to GY monster and gain some resist that way.

cheerz & 1000 times thank you!
