Question regarding options for MAC users.

I have read through the posts in the MAC/Linux forum but most of those are 2+ years old and I'm afraid this won't be noticed if I post in there. I went through the forum to figure out my current setup which is through Crossover. That works..to an extent. So far I just have trouble with the UO pointer being kind of glitchy and it's difficult to target. Another issue is opening two razors clients at once. I am able to open 1 razor client, and multi uo-only clients - this isn't a major problem, it just slows down macroing. Right now Crossover works for hunting and macroing but I'm here for pvp. I have trouble with client crashes/freezes.. it's not bad, I always remember UO having this problem. So my question's are..
Does everybody have trouble with client crashing/freezing? I feel like in general it can't be a problem with the amount of stat loss reds I see on the shard..
Does anybody have a recommendation to get Crossover running smoother, or would anybody recommend a better option? I read about VMware but that is around $80.00 and you need to install Windows via disc. Should I just install Windows on a separate partition with Boot Camp? I read people don't like doing this because you have to reboot, that doesn't seem like too big of a deal though - (Am I missing something?)
Specs are
Macbook Pro 2012
2.9GHz dual-core Intel i7
8g Ram
500-750GB (one or the other I can't remember and I'm on work computer. There is plenty of space though)
Thanks. Apologies if I posted this in the wrong area. Also, want to mention this shard is fucking awesome and I appreciate all the action - pk's, looters, griefers, and a lot of very helpful people. Feels like the UO I remember.

For the longest time I used Wine to run it. Never had any issues.

Actually I just read that you are willing to just install windows. You should do that, there is a pretty significant difference.

Okay. So I'll try wine also. Did you have issues with it opening multiple razor clients? And, does it make a difference which version of windows I use? I will probably just hit up any store to find it.

It's sluggish on occasion. If I were you I would just dual boot to windows.

A)
I would run bootcamp. On a older IOS you might need winXP service pack 2 or higher.

I would also recommend rEFIt too.

rEFIt is a boot menu and maintenance toolkit for EFI-based machines like the Intel Macs. You can use it to boot multiple operating systems easily, including triple-boot setups with Boot Camp. It also provides an easy way to enter and explore the EFI pre-boot environment.

B)
Although, I can help you set up wine but I think you would get better performance running UO in Windows.

I personally run Setup A when I play t2a :)

Some other guy asked about this a few months ago, he had not seen my topic about UO for MAC. Have you seen it? viewtopic.php?f=11&t=46997

It's the In Por Ylem shard who have made an UO port for mac, just download and install. You get multiple clients running through using Terminal, a quick search on google on how to open multiple applications will give you further details.

This might have worked well on an older OSX. I just tested on OSX 10.8.5 and it doesn't work. The client loads but freezes at login screen (not responding). It is a port anyways... Even if someone managed to get it working I doubt it would perform better than running the client in windows...

Step 1: Open your window

Step 2: Pick up you MAC

Step 3: Throw it out the window

Step 4: Purchase a real PC

Step 5: Install UO on it

Step 6: Come to the Brit GY and get owned by me....
