seriously guy, you are gonna get a decent reputation and then scam someone VIA forums? 4 real? I seriously doubt anyone will trade with you in the future...

Guys, don't go by forum reputation. People use it to upvote funny things people say etc. I am outright shocked that neither of you knew ahead of time that matron was the most Notorious villain, next to chumbucket.

The problem with counting on forum rep is that the bad guys outnumber the good guys here. So, you're evil and your buddies are evil...evil people upvote evil people... Don't count on things that can be rigged...

So what's the proposed scam here? I'm lost.

Apparently, someone (I can't prove who, so I will make no public accusations) pretended to be me selling my castle, and took 3 castle deeds from death12 and ran.

that someone was matron and he has admitted as such, irc logs to prove it, so he scammed using irc, isnt that illegal as well?

Someone has the IRC logs of this? Thought that was a ban-able offense, but who knows... I hope the guy at least gets his deeds back.

i think its just bannable from IRC, but we'll see.

PM's in irc aren't bannable. if you scam in irc main or trade, its an irc ban, if you scam in forums, its a forum ban, or ban on both. not an in game ban for either, unless something has changed.

if you're going to use forum rep to decide to trust someone, look thru their trading history

I'm sorry for your loss Death12 but a way to prevent things like this is asking the following conditions before purchase.

#1 - A trusted broker
#2 - Ask to be friended to the home and click the sign to see if he is the owner.

I'm sorry this happened to you and it definitely sucks... but I hope for your sake you can get at least part of your cash back or maybe all of it.

1.) This is a legit forum deal. Anyone who knows anything about the shard mechanics and policy, would know that scams on the public forum result in a forum ban. I think it's clear that I would never want to lose my forum account, my post count and many years of forum-scam free business should speak volumes.

If I wanted to scam you, I would do it on another forum name. But alas, I don't scam on the forums at all. I am an honest bard, just trying to make a purchase.


2.) Anyone conducting any business of any sort is perfectly safe, provided they use a real trusted broker that is in a guild. Check their name, and guild title, and all will be fine. If you aren't smart enough to figure out how a secure trade works, and understand the variables in place here that would prevent a scam from even taking place, then you are an idiot and I don't want to do business with you.


3.) Please keep this thread on-topic. I fully expect the trade-section moderator to clear this thread of off-topic and slanderous posts, as has been done for every thread before me. Thanks already to the several people that have PM'd me lovely homes to which I am considering.

You know noone has pm'd you any homes and even if you had a trusted broker, who would WANT to make a trade with a bad person? Not I, and i hope anyone that i associate with would do the same. You have been labeled as a bad person, a bad trader, a dishonest person and will be treated as such.
