My choice is not there.
STAFF ONLY!!
I would be bitterly disappointed if a player was chosen to judge a contest. I believe in impartial staff choices.
Not players who will favor a friend or someone who is more popular than someone else.

maahes is staff,
somtimes it is up to the player base to do things for themselves
i think this is one of them
if we have a panel of 5 judges, with complete transparency in the judging methods i think it iwll stop the TORPEDOING of players homes.
If you have any suggestions on how to make judging as fair as possible please check the house contest thread and join the current discussion regarding voting and leave your input, we need more input to get this as best we can.
Even staff are human and will be partial, even if they arent, they will be accused of it forever

I mainly look at the following when it comes to a nicely decorated house ...
*Usefulness - are you adding stuff just to add it that serves no purpose?
*Organization - clutter free?
*Theme - self-explanatory
I also like to see creativity when building and using certain items.

Originality
Theme
Effort
This is just a rough outline of a few elements that I'll include in each house judging write-up...but basically considering it's a decoration contest I'm looking at how much thought you put into it. If it's something that truly stands out, it deserves to be awarded. Themes are also something I enjoy, but would not consider penalizing if it didn't exist.
As to loop's stuff, I wouldn't judge on usefulness, as this is a Decor contest and nothing more.
