That's funny because I have paged GM's twice in 3 days about this very container. I have read about how to reproduce an exploit where one can do this - but I will not divulge how. I was at the least expecting to see this container changed to a regular lockdown so I could loot it, so I marked a rune to this house to check up on the container status. This morning I re-paged again; asking specifically if the container was going to at least get changed to a regular lockdown so player justice (looting it) would deter future exploiters from doing this. GM Mondain said "they have no plans to change the status of the container". So I take that as official OK to use this exploit if they aren't going to enforce it. I would at the very least expect some GM action like the container being deleted and the offending account (house owner) getting a warning. Too much to hope for I guess. I don't care how long one has played a shard, exploits should not be tolerated period. If that's no longer the case, maybe its time to find a shard with better staff integrity and professional ethics. *Waits for the flames and trolls to sound off*

I just wrote along response but it freaking deleted by accident at the last second, so Im going to try to keep this shorter. Unfortunately, it is totla BS that this is allowed. But, apparently, this is how the shard is with era accuracy. If an exploit is "era accuratE" they allow it. Have you seen the targeting under the tower thread where people were getting killed macroing in their supposed "safe" tower or keep? If you want my feelings on that go ahead and look that post up because I agree with you about these exploits. Exploits are exploits and technically shouldnt be allowed in game. With that being said, if it was era accurate they wont fix it, sadly.
So, to that note, if you know how to do this trick, and want to tell me, I will gladly continue the exploit :)

The entire reason that we won't change the status of the container is to prevent arbitrary looting. We know how the exploit works, and we'll get a fix for it in the near future.

If you knowingly exploit a non-era-accurate mechanic, shouldn't you expect that it might backfire on you?

Why protect a NEA exploit?

... There are a lot of non era-accurate things that have happened on this server, and most of them have resulted in rares. The idea to my understanding is that you can't simply revoke things from players once they've already got them, just fix it for future players.

So this is not bannable but if someone else other then TG did it would it be bannable?

lol at implying favoritism. Sit down, Yal. Just because you saw it in a public house does NOT mean it's not in almost every smart persons house on this server.

Dealing with exploits has never involved simply changing the status of items arbitrarily and on the spot, nor has it involved giving players the opportunity to gain another player's items.

Also, the implication that we would ban anyone who isn't part of a specific guild is a completely unfounded claim.

Thank you Elk for agreeing with my way of thinking.

Well people would think since its been going on for some time now that it would of been fixed by now...

I'm not sure whether Derrick has known about this for any period of time or not, but this is the first that I have heard about this.

It wouldn't be era accurate to know about things that are not era accurate.
