Cost of Reagents and Default Inventory on NPCs
I've been poring over publish archives and various google results trying to figure out when exactly reagent prices where changed from the UO Demo. As can be seen, from this screenshot taken on a presently operable UO Demo Shard, Black Pearl and Blood Moss were both 6g each, as opposed to the presently known value of 4g. Not only that, but one can see also the default inventory amount is 10, not 20.
Can anyone help me find information to indicate this was changed, prior to the cut-off date for accuracy here?

Demo shows 6gp, without being in the mages guild. Mages guild discounts by 1gp.Vega wrote:BP/BM are 5gp unless you're in the mages guild... derp
DO YOU EVEN LIFT?!?!?!!?

BM/BP were definitely 6gp on OSI. How long has it been 4gp here? I can't believe it.

The default stock was missed during the changes to the restock algorithm. As for the price of Black Pearl and Blood Moss, stratics confirms the prices at 6 gp per. We'll make note of it and get it fixed in the future. Nice find.

Re: Cost of Reagents and Default Inventory on NPCs
I *really* dont think the default to 10 should be fixed.
Why ? It's going to make resupply (and not just regs) extremly annoying, and way worse than it's already in.
Thank GOD for the 20 items respawn (no joke).
I understand era accuracy, but damn.
That being said, dont forget to add the Bundle of Flax to Tailor NPCs as well.

Caan you explain this better to me Francois? I thought all this meant was they were changing the original restock amount from 20 to 10, which, if it keeps doubling isnt too big of a deal, your saying this is something different? Can you please explain?Francois424 wrote:I *really* dont think the default to 10 should be fixed.

Re: Cost of Reagents and Default Inventory on NPCs
It dosen't double each time.
It increases by +9
So right now it's 20 - 29 - 38 (and so on)
After it'll be 10 - 19 - 28 (and so on).
HOWEVER, at my time of play I get a LOT of merchant at 20 for many goods.
If they fall to 10, it's a major pain for me.

...and this is why reg-buying bots are not the problem that people make them out to be. If they were running as constantly as people make it out to be, the vendor stock would be higher than baseline consistently when you went to the shops and caught a restock cycle.

No, they are still a problem, because when I play merchants have reverted to the basic 20 stock
if it gets changed to 10 it makes it even harder to get reagents....
It has nothing to do with the damned bots, nothing at all. *sigh*

Re: Cost of Reagents and Default Inventory on NPCs
Again, they are not a problem, because when you see a restock it is at DEFAULT level. That means no one has bought out that vendor in at least the last hour, if not longer. They need to be bought out to keep high stock on them, its as simple as that.Francois424 wrote:corruption42 wrote:Francois424 wrote:It dosen't double each time.

Default inventory is related; this wouldn't be a painful change if they were being bought out regularly. The times you found a vendor in stock, they would be well above the default, making such an issue null and void.

Re: Cost of Reagents and Default Inventory on NPCs
I dont want to speak about bot buying reags. They dont do it 24/7 and I'm not only talking about reags.
I'm thinking at large here, voicing the reduction to 10 if unbought being a major pain for those playing at odd hours.

Difficulty doesn't matter if its era accurate, and Kaivan already confirmed that it is. Anticipate this change, and hope for more reg buying bots, cuz you sound like you need em.Francois424 wrote:I dont want to speak about bot buying reags. They dont do it 24/7 and I'm not only talking about reags.
