Grey even after journal says ok?

I have accidentally turned grey autolooting gold from a blue with a character. I then hide before anyone notices and then wait until my journal says "Guards can no longer be called on you" I then unhide and notice I am still grey and then get guard whacked... Is there a reason the journal says I am in the clear but I really am not?

I had the option checked in razor to autoloot.

What tab under Razor did you find the auto loot check box? I can't find it.

I believe that the timers for guards being called vs. not being gray anymore are different.
Guards can be called on you for the first 20-30 seconds (I forget) but you can stay grey for 2-5 minutes (?)depending on what your criminal action was.

I apologize I am referring to auto open nearby corpses. I just say autoloot because it pops up immediately and if I see gold on a corpse I can not help but loot automatically
