Some Important Tips:

-You can only steal from players if you are a member of the Thieves Guild.
-To join the Thieves Guild you need to have at least 60 skill in stealing.
-If you are reported for murder you will be kicked out of the Thieves Guild.
- To see if someone is in the Thieves Guild use the Forensic Evaluation skill on them. The higher your Forensic Evaluation skill, the more chance you have of finding out who's in the Thieves Guild.

5 Things that can happen if you steal an item:

1.You successfully steal the item, and it goes unnoticed. In this situation, guards cannot be called on you and you are not flagged as a criminal.
2. You successfully steal the item, and are noticed. In this situation, guards can be called on you and you are flagged as a criminal.
3.You fail to steal the item, and are noticed. In this situation, guards can be called on you and you are flagged as a criminal.
4.You fail to steal the item, and it goes unnoticed. In this situation, guards cannot be called on and you are not flagged as a criminal.
5. In addition to the effects listed above, you also turn perma-gray in all four cases. For more information on perma-gray, please continue reading.

What is "perma-gray?"
When a thief steals from himself or an innocent, he turns what we call "perma-gray." The term itself is quite deceiving. The thief appears to return being blue two minutes after his last steal, however; he will remain gray to the person he stole from and will be freely attackable by all others until he dies. Once he dies, the perma-gray flag is gone until he steals from an innocent again.

Items:

Theifs have one particular item that they can use which is awesome called a disguise kit.

Purchasing a Disguise Kit:
As a member of the thieves’ guild, you have the option of purchasing a disguise kit from the thief guildmaster. To do this, visit the theif guildmaster again and say, "disguise kit." He will ask you for 700 gold, so just drag and drop the gold onto him.

Gaining the Primary skills:
Snooping easily raises by checking backpacks.Stealing those is a different story you must steal the appropriate stones per skill level. The most common way is to buy a pouch and a packhorse and find a secluded spot.Place the pouch in the horses backpack and use single gold coins to weigh down the pouch.Attempt to steal it and if successful place it back on the horse.

WHAT TO DO AFTER:

After you raise the 2 most essential skills in the profession you can take one of the following paths or come up with one of your own.
