try using a real irc client rather than the web client until the staff has a chance to address this.

It is not working for me either. I get the same issue as in the screenshot.

The same problem happened last year. They'll get it fixed eventually but until then as said you'll be needing another IRC client.

I use mIRC, also. This happens all the time and the accepted answer is to get a standalone IRC client.

However the web client used by this site (the one you access by clicking "IRC Chat" up there^) is not working.
If you use different client software to access IRC everything is still as it was before the problem.
There are many choices of IRC client available, some free, others not - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison ... at_clients

This is affecting me too (web client).
I was even having issues with the mIRC client which was timing out on finding the server. Not sure why yet, but I've got it working...
Pinging irc.wildirc.net and DNS was able to translate to an IP Address, so I'm not sure what the issue is. Anyways, I had to manually add another server to the mIRC client and use the IP Address, instead of the hostname, to get it to connect.
