It's a lot less amusing when you continue to bring mechanics into question that have been known for an extremely long time without any due diligence.

Here's the line item from the December 21, 1998 patch notes that states that this isn't possible:

• Placement of houses enforces a space limit around the newly placed house.
  • There must be a completely clear 1 tile space all the way around the building.
  • There must be a 5 tile space in the front and back of the house wherein there are no "dynamic" objects. This means that trees and underbrush are OK, but another house is not.

Those were placed back before the new Housing rules were implemented, back then you could place them just about anywhere that wasn't in town. On Pacific some guy had a large brick covering up the fenced vegetable fields on the east side of Moonglow.

These are the sorts of things that I think should be available through silver/trophy points... You would have seen them in era, I think rather than neon masks it would be cool to be able to attain these things somehow.
