Can anyone tell me why I can't re-place this house where ...

... the old one was? I bought a small 7x7 and demolished it, returned the deed, got another deed for a different style and am now trying to place it exactly where the other one was. I keep getting the house placement error message stating there is something in the way or the it's not a valid location. However, there is nothing on the ground at all, and there is noone hiding there, etc.
I'm attempting to place on the same spot, but I've also tried every variant and nothing seems to be working. Any ideas/suggestions? Thanks

It may be that this house was placed before a patch that affected the house placement rules.
Something similar happened to me where I bought a tower replaced it with a large brick and then could not replace the tower, not even at exactly the same spot. A bush or a rock that did not interfere now blocked placement of anything bigger than 14x14.

Also, the ghost of the house will not place where it displays. The offset is nw some tiles.

k been trying to place it for a while now, about an hour. I think I've tried every single space available, it's in between two other small houses so there are no real options in those directions. Think it's a lost cause? Not sure if theres some trick to placing that I'm not aware of ....

The order in which you places houses mattered at one point too.

The main "trick" to placing a house is to make sure that you have game screen located at the top left of your monitor ... then the house and your mouse pointer are correctly aligned and it all works well.
I used to have all sorts of placement issues until I came across that "trick".

wow this is depressing. Farmed for a long time to get that spot. I tried the suggestions here, can't get it to go. Been trying to place it now forever and I got work in the morning. Thanks for the replys if anyone has any ideas let me know. Thanks again

Hop into IRC and Pm me there under name Liinniejj ill come have a look at the land see if i can see whats obstructing it for ye. liek elavated land or whatnot

I went to have a look at the spot with him. Its right next to a small right in front of a dungeon entrance. so yh it was grandfathered.
