Please destroy your chest after you have looted it so the next person can proceed with their treasure hunting endeavors. This is done by hitting the chest with an ax.

Yah, if you chop up that chest....you're only helping someone else get richer.
Helping out random unknown people seems to go against the base instinct of every hardcore UO player.
But you should totally leave that shit. Make a smiley face with the scrolls or something.

Pro tip: start a throwaway character with mining and lumberjacking. Transfer the newbie shovel and axe to your treasure hunter and you'll never have to worry about digging up or destroying a chest ever again.
