UO Second Age

A gank squad from the N-S guild just killed me and looted my house. Several months of work are now gone. For some reason, probably lag related, my door didn't lock. I've decided to quit. I just wanted to setup a player vendor. I have two small houses near Vesper I'm willing to give away. One is in a pretty nice spot next to the Vesper Graveyard. PM me if you are interested.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. I'm sure with the knowledge and skill you have aquired in these months it will take you much less time to make it all up and much more. Sure, it hurts right now, but loosing pixels is only part of the game, brush it off and keep on truckin'.

Actually it turns out the door was locked. How can someone open a locked house door?

Even if people kill you at your door with the door open, should have your house set-up so that nothing can be looted.

That's why I detect hidden every single time I enter.. even though theres only space for 2-3 tiles that I can run back and forth to check for hidden.

dam right! I think if you DH you cover all your house ? (not 100% sure) ?

Also, and I know this can be annoying to do... but I also try to have an account logged on as a doorman.
A random alt that remains hidden just inside to open, so no use of key is necessary.

From what I saw by passing by just now was no security and a pile of uncooked fishsteaks smelling up the place. Is that all they left?

You can re-deed the house, move to another more
secure location.

House security even with a small is mandatory. You have to have
lockdowns just inside and/or as someone said, have an alt as doorman.

So is that house even secure anymore? Can someone be logged out in there?

If the house is [public] someone can hide and log out, nothing you can really do about that.

If its not, then change the locks. Its can option when you dbl click the sign.
You can lock down a key on a key ring outside by using stackable items to
get the key about to the door handle and lock it down. You can use to unlock/lock
door when entering

Make it a private home, it will boot them outside when they log back in. Search on home security on the forums. Use table barriers with trash barrels. Use detect hidden. There's ways to prevent this, just have to do some learning is all.
