I'm sure there's others in the same boat as I am. I'm researching my Blacksmith skill and at the moment I'm at 98.8. I've been creating plate male gloves for some time as it was helping up until 98.8.

Are plate male gloves the right item to help increase faster?

Here's a list I gotten:

55-65: Cutlass
65-75: Katana
75-85: Short Spear
85-99: spear
99-100: Breastplate

If this list is in error for leveling, feel free to post a true list. Thanks in Advance.

Yep good luck that last point is a PITA

I think it was around 2-5k ingots if you smelt as you make.

OK, I made it to 99.0 but no sight of a breastplate to create.

You can do spears all the way to 100. It's slower but takes much fewer ingots if you have a gm miner to smelt them since weapons seem to return more ingots than armor. Items don't have to be in a backpack to smelt so you can set up simple organize macros to dump the spears into 3 or 4 bags. Just be sure to keep any good spears out of range/sight if you run a smelt macro.

Thanks for the post, I've been having problems gaining skills too. I've been making plate gorgets and it's gotten me to 64, but gains have stopped. I'm going to try and switch to cutlass for that last point, then move over to katanas. Hopefully, that'll start my gains again.

Also does it help for the chance of leveling up to have a good intelligence or dexterity level?
