Is it possible (and allowed) to use this instead of Razor? :?:

After your post, I downloaded AssistUO and tested it out (on the default server, UOGamers).

It has a lot of potential, in my opinion, especially considering the fact that Razor has ceased updating for quite some time now.

I found a forum post that compares the two programs, for anyone with an interest in the matter at hand.

It appears that, for the most part, there is nothing AssistUO does that Razor cannot. However, it is continually being updated and has enhanced stability in comparison to Razor.

Paraphrasing a post from the forum thread link above:

Just curious, what sallos features does assistUO have?
Good features from Sallos:
-locking spell grid that you can move around, but its a bit smaller than the grid on Sallos
-reliable way to make a disrupt macro that cant get the item stuck in your hand like Razor
-there is an option to share targets in Party, Guild, or Alliance chat but I don't think its working just yet
-not as jittery as Razor, but absolutely not as smooth as Sallos.... :(
-buttons on the spell grid are all single-click which is really nice, buttons you pull out of your spellbook however are double-click
-potions come out of kegs fast
-doesn't randomly shit bricks like Razor

Good features from Razor:
-multiple 'profiles'
-multiple 'restock agents'
-custom counters on the top bar (you know you missed this)
-the option to not have constant spam in party chat if your guild desires
-health % above people and creatures
-scavenger agent
-custom 'Delay between actions' (Object delay in Razor)
-vendor agents
-light, weather, and many other filters
-expansive custom macro system
-you don't have to edit some text file to change your game screen size
-new hues are visible, and not distorted like they are on Sallos with new hues patched in
-transparency circle
-smart target range check
-you can turn down the sound in-game ._.''
-it doesn't have that grey bar all the way along the bottom of the game screen
-you can hear footsteps
-you can see your gorget, hat, jewelry in the paperdoll
-organizer will move an entire stack of potions, not just 1 potion off the stack like Sallos

New features:
-shows enemy target in party chat, but not every damn spell you cast
-simpler targeting than Razor and Sallos
-a 1 hotkey system for setting up new wands, weps, mounts ect. that won't have you digging through menus
-create an unlimited amount of 'agents'
-an auto corpse looting feature that I haven't played with just yet
-the overall macro system can actually do a bit more than Razor
-a friend system that is better than the ones in Razor and Sallos, because you can use it not only to prevent yourself from targeting your friends, but also defensively with the new target closest friend command
I think this is definitely a discussion we need to have.

Sadly you can write scripts and have it run just like easyuo. That's what I noticed off the bat.

No. http://www.uosecondage.com/Rules
We allow unattended macroing with Razor only(dl)
No other software may be used for repetitive tasks.
This sounds like EUO for dummies tbh.

Interesting!

If this is to be legal on UOSA, I would give it a test.

I checked it out on the Neon Central shard, er I mean Hybrid, and at first glace I have to say I don't like how much it enables you to do. You can probably create super robots with this software...

Bad for UO.

Unless Derrick hands down a rule change, we will ban anyone caught using UO programs other than razor.

I only asked because this seems to be the program that's going to replace Razor. It's made by the same people (RunUO guys) and Razor is not getting any updates lately. It's perfectly legal to use it on Demise and Hybrid and their rules on AFK gathering resources etc. are actually much more strict.

It's probably true that it allows a lot, but then you can automate pretty much anything in Razor if you're any good at scripting. The fact that you may break rules with a tool doesn't mean you actually will and again: Razor allows a lot too if you know how to do it.

You are playing using a game client that hasn't received any updates in 13 years except for the title screen about 4 years ago. Until Razor stops functioning completely, I can't see this being a legitimate argument...

I don't see the point.

221396056 wrote:It's probably true that it allows a lot...
A legitimate case to not allow it.

Razor does not provide artificial intelligence unlike EUO. In addition, the features described in AssistUO involve some level of AI. This is why its not allowed.

I've tested it on Hybrid too, great assistant... also checked their forums and there is a negotiator script, is it a server feature?

That only works if all connecting clients are required to use razor/assistuo. While the vast majority of players use them anyhow, Derrick has made it clear he does not want them to be a requirement to play. Additionally, the granularity of feature negotiation leaves a lot to be desired in any case.

Share targets with party members?

What could possibly go wrong?

Actually it was made by two spanish guys, then they went to Ryan to test it on a server and he "adopted" it...

Also max object delay is 999. Good luck.

Staff should refrain from using it as well! Don't be cheating more than your godly invulnerable powers already do!
