After you are finished with this guide you should be able to connect to the Second Age IRC Channel. The IRC Client this guide uses is HIRC.

Step 1 *Downloading HIRC and WinRar*
Before we do anything we you will need WinRar or WinZip/WinAce any of theses will work.
WinRar- http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe
Now you need to Download the IRC Client.(There are Tons of IRC Clients out there you can use this is just a Simple and Easy to use client)
HIRC- http://www.xs4all.nl/~hneel/software/hirc.zip
End of Step 1

Step 2 *Installing HIRC and WinRar*
Before we can install HIRC you need to Install WinRar. Once you have Install WinRar You will then be able to Extract the HIRC.zip. Right click on HIRC.zip and Select Extract to HIRC\. A new folder will appear with the name "HIRC" Open it and Execute the HIRC Application to install.
End of Step 2

Step 3 *Configuring HIRC*
Now that you have HIRC Installed you need to start the irc client. Once the client loads up you go to Tools > Properties. Fill in the "Nickname" and "User" fields.(Make them both the same, So if you want to be named Greg in the Irc channel you will fill the fields with Greg) Next go to Tools > Servers, Click the Add Button. Fill in the Following Fields with the provided Information.

Name: WildIRC
Address: irc.wildirc.net
Port: 6667

The Password and the Group fields remain empty.
End of Step 3

Step 4 *Joining IRC Server and Second Age Channel*
Now that you have created a entry for WildIRC go to Tools > Servers In the drop down menu Select NewNet and Hit ok. You will see alittle Icon that looks like a Key in a Ignition Click on that and it will connect you to the NewNet server. Once you are connected Type the following command in the text bar:

/join #secondage

Then a new window will open up and there you go your now connect to the Second Age IRC channel!
End of Step 4

End of Guide

If you run into any problem while using this guide Please post here and I'll do my best to assist you.

***HIRC is only for Windows based Platforms***

The following website provides a list for irc clients that will work on other platforms if you need one.

THIS GUIDE IS OUTDATED AND WILL BE UPDATED SOON

That's very strange. It's the correct post and name. I'd let it continue to retry until it connects. It is up now, we have quite a few in there.

Let it retry a few time, mIRC has the wrong port info
try:
/server irc.wildirc.net 6667
/join #secondage
