Guide : How to Connect to IRC

After you are finished with this guide you should be able to connect to the Second Age IRC Channel. The IRC Client this guide uses is HIRC.
Step 1 *Downloading HIRC and WinRar*
Before we do anything we you will need WinRar or WinZip/WinAce any of theses will work.
WinRar- http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe
Now you need to Download the IRC Client.(There are Tons of IRC Clients out there you can use this is just a Simple and Easy to use client)
HIRC- http://www.xs4all.nl/~hneel/software/hirc.zip

Step 2 *Installing HIRC and WinRar*
Before we can install HIRC you need to Install WinRar. Once you have Install WinRar You will then be able to Extract the HIRC.zip. Right click on HIRC.zip and Select Extract to HIRC\. A new folder will appear with the name "HIRC" Open it and Execute the HIRC Application to install.

Step 3 *Configuring HIRC*
Now that you have HIRC Installed you need to start the irc client. Once the client loads up you go to Tools > Properties. Fill in the "Nickname" and "User" fields.(Make them both the same, So if you want to be named Greg in the Irc channel you will fill the fields with Greg) Next go to Tools > Servers, Click the Add Button. Fill in the Following Fields with the provided Information.
Name: WildIRC
Address: irc.wildirc.net
Port: 6667
The Password and the Group fields remain empty.

Step 4 *Joining IRC Server and Second Age Channel*
Now that you have created a entry for WildIRC go to Tools > Servers In the drop down menu Select NewNet and Hit ok. You will see alittle Icon that looks like a Key in a Ignition Click on that and it will connect you to the NewNet server. Once you are connected Type the following command in the text bar:
/join #secondage
Then a new window will open up and there you go your now connect to the Second Age IRC channel!
