PvP concern

I'm new to UO and have a few concerns regarding pvp. While I haven't yet seen much pvp yet, I've seen a number of videos and discussions that suggest scripts and such to be fairly common. I prefer to work mostly from in game options, though razor has been useful for simple macros like "unequip weapon, cast, equip weapon". I really like the game, but in a game with world pvp I don't want to invest a bunch of time in it to find that people are basically letting programs / scripts do the playing for them. It completely destroys the gaming experience (for me, at least).
Are these concerns valid to any extent, or should I do alright just playing a mage with normal casting macros and such (without fancy scripts / lame bs).
Thank you for taking the time to read this / reply.

You should be fine if not at an advantage with razor. Despite popular belief scripts don't do anything a person with good reaction time and the right macros can.
In fact it is probably easier to kill a person running a script if you notice a pattern and interrupt or cause it to create too many actions that you can gain the upper hand.
The only exception to this would be the script that passes the spells to other accounts and dumps all at the same time, in witch case recalling/running would be my advice.
There are probably less people using scripts then people would have you believe, because generally the common rage response to a UO death is that the other person had an unfair advantage. "you hax" "nice scripts" "way to gank" "I ran out of regs" and "you got lucky 1v1 me for mils" are the common threats/excuses.

Most people dont use scripts to pvp. The only thing you really use razor for to pvp is to drink potions and equip/unequip, quick recall macro...things like that. Most pvp happends at the Britian Graveyard FYI.

Mage vs Mage pvp is way too randomized to really run a script effectively
dexxers prob can EUO but who really cares about playing a dexxer anyway, there really isnt much foul play if you have a good understanding of certain things , you should be able to effectively compete.
