Agreed.

Actually, they create a good and stable market that levels the playing field for all people. Without them, prices would be skyrocketing for house sales where as they currently have a very low profit rate seeing as most houses don't cost much more than the deed price unless the house has some sort of unique benefit.

I mean, if you really want the price of houses to go through the roof, then by all means, boycott away. However, keep in mind that the same people you're trying to boycott are the ones who keep the prices low.

Its easy to place a small tho! Boycott away!

As long as there is demand, you will have people capitalizing on that demand. If you really want to crash the housing market, convince Derrick to make Trammel.

i agree to boycott sales where the slumlords make any profits-- i have. only exception i can see is if the location of the house is so great that it raises the value. but 3 or 4 people owning a large percent of the housing market is ridiculous.

People on the shard can own a maximum of 15 houses between accounts. These are also the people who give back to the community by selling them to the public where they were once not available. Without these people, pretty much none of you would have any chance in the lower hells of ever getting any large houses because these house spots would be taken and hoarded by the same people who kill everyone at idocs.

The "profit" people make is very little compared to the time they put into staking these houses out and getting the area clear enough through all the murder to place a new one.

I wish a small was all I needed. My small is packed to the gills. Anyway, paying deed + 80k for a large tower in a good location really isn't that bad. When I started UO in 2001 my first small, in a Fel Swamp, cost me 300k; a castle was always way out of reach. Purchasing a castle here is a realistic goal even for the patient casual player and for that I see no reason to boycott anything. The housing market on this shard is great; it actually exists without making even the highest end homes out of reach.

The prices are not all that expensive. I agree it is annoying when people own like 15 houses and sell to make profit, however, theres no places to place a tower deed or an l shape or a small tower deed anywhere. you can place smalls yah, but i want a big house, i got a lot of stuff, plus i share my house with friends so its nice to have a bigger house so everyone gets a room. im looking to buy a small tower but i only have 220k so i know i need to get to at least 500k before i can get a decent small tower.


500k is very attainable in this game if you just be patient and farm monsters, even with the ridiculous amount of PKs that run in stupid gank squads, you can still make a lot, plus the PKs in gank squads arent too smart so you can get away easily.

The glory of UO is the free economy.

The possibilities are endless.

Sorry, but there is no way to boycott housing, everyone needs houses. Why would you play a game to limit yourself to a small house?

Small houses generate next to no profit unless they are in prime locations, and there are plenty of spots for smalls all over the world. While some people do own 15 houses, in reality it is a pain in the ass refreshing them.

So I'm gonna boycott your boycott.
