Promotion/Ranks
Chouhada - The promotion from Wali to Chouhada is a decision made by the Naib and other elders. The only requirement for attaining this rank is being active, getting on well with the rest of the tribe and showing that you are making an effort to fit in.
Fedaykin - An active Chouhada who participates in regular battles/outings will be invited to join the Fedaykin, once the elder council votes to promote them based on their good standing. Fedaykin will usually be selected from Chouhada who have finished their characters, or are very close to it.
Maaji - A veteran member in good standing will be invited to make a Maaji when it is deemed neccessary to have another magic user in the tribe. It is not mandatory to accept the position when it is offered and if you prefer playing a warrior, that's fine.
Sayyadina - A maaji who has been with the tribe for some time may occasionally be picked out to join the ranks of the sayyadina, advanced magic users who, along with the fedaykin, form the inner council of the tribe, who consult with the Naib on important decisions. To attain this exalted position you must be a very active player who has proven themselves an asset to the tribe.
These positions will be offered to members in order of seniority, and if for example a Fedaykin player declines the chance to have a Maaji alt, the position will be offered to the next most senior member. Hopefully no one should feel left out--just be active within the tribe and the opportunity will come to you.
Mounts
Wali - No mount. You will learn to understand the hazards of the desert by facing them on foot.
Chouhada - Desert ostard or a white horse.
Fedaykin - Desert or frenzied ostard.
Maaji - Desert ostard or a white horse.
Sayyadina - Desert or frenzied ostard.
Uniform
All savages wear bone armour pieces, except mages (bone armour ruins your meditation)
Maula (slave) - Brown pants and bandana.
Wali - Full bone armour.
Chouhada - Bone armour with 2 leather or studded pieces of your choosing. You may also wear a red tribal mask.
Fedaykin - Bone arms and legs with 4 leather or studded pieces of your choosing. You are permitted to wear a ringmail tunic. You may also wear a bear mask.
Maaji - Purple apron, sandals and you may wear a white tribal mask.
Sayyadina - Purple apron, sandals and you may wear a deer mask.
Naib - The Naib wears whatever outfit is appropriate to his skillset, in addition to a sash, which only the Naib may wear. The sash is purple if a mage, black if a warrior.
General Restrictions
There are certain overall restrictions to bear in mind, the most obvious of these being that warriors, either Chouhada or Fedaykin, have no magery whatsoever. Other restrictions are as follows -
Plate armour is NOT allowed, in any form, regardless of rank.
The following is the list of weapon restrictions -
Swordsmanship - Halberds and any 'sword' ie; katana, scimitar, broadsword. Swordsmanship users must wield axes. Fedaykin may use a bardiche if they wish. Halberds are NEVER allowed.
Macing - Warhammers are restricted to Fedaykin only.
Fencing - War forks are restricted to Fedaykin only.
Parrying - Wooden or tear kite shields only.
As for skills, there are no particularly harsh restrictions, barring the fact that warriors have no magery. Snooping/stealing are not allowed, but to be quite honest they're mostly useless to a savage anyway.
