Newb Statloss Questions

Post by Savagefire »

I started playing UO in 2000, I have heard about statloss, but never had it explained in detail, I had always assumed it was just for Murderers.

I'm sure I'm not the only one new to T2A that doesnt understand Statloss in detail, so I'd be greatfull for some clarification.

Upon Death I've been clicking to remain dead, no death is worth a 10% loss in skills or stats. I went ahead and checked always remain a ghost this time so I didnt accidentally hit the wrong one at a later time.

1. Is this Monster death statloss the same as statloss a Murderer would recieve?

2. If it is the same, are there Red Healers that a Murderer can get a Res from, or does he have to depend on other players/ chaos shrine/ etc. to avoid statloss?

3. If a Red/Blue PK kills you, he gets a count(if givin), does statloss only apply here if the PK had died during the attack?

Please explain anything I may have left out or have wrong.

Thanks

That's the option for the instant rez...which will incur a 10% penalty like it says.

Murderer stat loss is based on the number of short term murders you have, the more short terms you're hoarding the more loss you will incur.

Thank you Sir, you've had an answer for me everytime.

Id also like to know for example, a murderer that has 100 counts against them attacks someone, what happens to him statloss wise if he lives vs dies during the attack? any difference and how bad is the statloss?
I've only seen a few Reds in the last 3-4 days, do they have to re-train skills/stats each murder or only if they die and how bad is it at 5 counts vs 100 counts?

Ive got friends that would considering starting over here depending on the answer to that question.

Statloss only occurs if you are red with 5 or more short term counts and you decide to resurrect. If you have 5 or more short term counts, and decide to remain dead and let the short term counts go below 4, you can res as a red with no statloss.

Statloss is between 9% and 20% depending on your short term counts ... [Currently slightly different, but that is the change in the next patch to come shortly]
