Speed taming

Post by randale »

Regarding this thread viewtopic.php?f=9&t=23711

First of all, with taming the creatures from the compassion shrine, what do you do to release them? If you have the macro set to randomly target things, then it will be taming things that you have already tamed and you'll get a message saying so. Second, you'll have to release the creatures to tame them again, but isn't this kind of pointless, taming them a second time gets you no gain after they've been tamed the first. Not to mention how you'd put the release in your macro.

Should you have the EE's kill the tamed creatures? (tell the tamed creatures to attack them, or use provoke to have them attack each other, are both options I can think of)

This method isn't exactly one you can just have your toon sit there and tame them for hours unattended, due to the fact that once the creatures are tamed and released, they will need to be killed to make room for new untamed creatures, so you'll have to have your second character bring in the new tamed creatures periodically, which can't be done AFK.

And, what about the taming macro itself

Use skill Animal Taming
Wait for target (Right click, edit timeout, set to "1")
Target random Grey
!loop

Rose recommends binding the Target Random Grey to a hotkey, but will this work? I know that if you bind a hotkey in razor, say to a macro, it will invoke that macro when it gets to that part of the first macro, but it will not go back and finish the first macro it was started from. So, even though you set it to loop, when it gets to target random grey, it will do it then the macro will stop, wouldn't it?

And yes use Razor to make a Macro to "Target Random Grey" and yes it works.
