Dungeon Lockpicker

Post by Dux »

I'm working on creating a dungeon lockpicker char.

Here was my original template idea:

Lockpicking
Hiding
Stealth
Magery
Meditation
Wrestling
Stealing

Now, I've read in a couple places that detecting hidden will allow me to open higher level chests until I increase lockpicking to GM. So, does that mean that 95 lockpicking plus a certain amount of Detect Hidden (60?) = GM Lockpicking? Am I understanding that right?

If that's the case then, my template would change to something like this until I GM'ed LP:

60 Detect Hidden
70 Meditation
70 Wrestling
95 Lockpicking
GM Magery
GM Stealing
GM Hiding
GM Stealth

Then, once I GM'ed lockpicking I would work back to the original template and dump DH.

Does that make sense?

Only for treasure chests, meaning you'd be able to open lvl 5 treasure chests.

Just to clarify, when you say treasure chests you mean the chests from doing treasure maps and not the chests in the dungeons?

Affirmative.

Although there is only one chest in a dungeon that requires GM lockpicking, that I know of, and 99.9999% of the time it will be unlocked and/or empty.

Thanks for the quick responses!

So, if that's the case then why is GM Lockpicking such a big deal? In other words, why do you have a screenshot of GMing it in your sig? lol

1.- Because I don't need to waste 60 points in DH.
2.- Because it is a PITA to GM.
3.- There have only been 141 GM lockpickers in the history of this shard.
