Stable room

Post by Grog »

I just made a return to SA and found the shard pretty active. Besides almost all the housing spots being taken up eccept for some small 6x6 house spots, I will have to get by with waitng on a 2 story b/p house plot to come available. The problem I have run into (while looking for a house plot) is that none of the stables on the shard have room. I have seen countless tamed and x-tamed animals all over the place. I know that Derrik wants this shard to be T2A accurate and such, but with the population as is, imo, I think the stables have to be tweaked a bit to allow more players to stable their pets. Seeing dragons roam Minoc with out being gaurd whacked is something halariuos to see. This might be a t2a thing but really? : D It's just an observation and sudjestion. Happy venturing!

The reaction delay that was recently implemented between when someone says "stable" and the targeting cursor appears will help alleviate some of that problem. Prior to that a person could stable 9 pets in just about 1/4 of a second. Not it takes about 9 seconds to stable that many pets.

how exactly is this reaction delay going to help the stable situation? for those who refresh their pets all at the same time? if they are refreshed individually (the way i do it) then it won't make a difference since the delay is the same for everyone.

The moment somebody claims their 50 cats, dogs, and chickens, you have 50 seconds to get at least 1 stable spot! Woo hoo!

If you create a good macro, you could probably get 25 stable spots. Previously, they could restable everything practically before you even knew they had said claim.

What about the people that dont have 50 dogs cats and chickens but worked hard to get their spots and actually sell pets?I get orders for 20 to 100 dragons or WWs quite often,I dont turret, and this is going to lose me stable spots I worked hard to get and that Ive paid a lot of money for through-out the last 6 months or so.

I never swooped a spot from anyone, all of the spots I have I got by checking the stables often. They are not that hard to get if you really want them,I even give them away, and several times have PMed people about open spots in stables I dont use.

Now not only is there a good chance because of the delay that I will lose spots when refreshing, but that I will be squelched for stalling them because of "spam".

wtf.......I dont often cry about things but I worked hard for those spots.....

You don't OWN those spots. You simply CONTROL them. You have no rightful claim to the stable slots, because they're something which shouldn't have to be controlled in the first place. Until this whole fiasco, there was always plenty of spots for every tamer to stable as much as they want.

If everyone like you would stop hoarding spots out of fear of not having enough later, I believe you'd find that there would always be plenty of spots available for you when you need them. However, even if you stop hoarding spots, the other tamers are going to continue doing so. And, even if all tamers stop hoarding spots, griefers will continue to do so. Damned if we do, damned if we don't.

But please don't try to act like its some righteous thing and that you DESERVE those spots.

Note this is just my opinion, and I am certainly in no way an authority on stable slots.

Again for those who missed it....I dont "hoard" spots I use them.I have very few "filler animals" just holding spots.

I sell a commodity,not stable spots.
What you see in my stable spots are 95% animals that sell.....WWs,dragons,mares,frenzieds....

Why should I lose my spots because someone wants to be a jackass?

I guess I need to cry as loud as everyone else so my voice will be heard.

you won't lose anything if you name them and claim them individually.

i.e. you got hosed...

But yet this is possibly a good thing; nobody wants to sit around naming 60 animals (nor would they enjoy restabling them all individually), so unless you are hard core about it, dragon turrets are far more difficult to maintain--which is how it should be imo.

Again,I dont turret, and its easy to say name them individually now that its changed.Either way I have to pull them all out now,and if I take the time to rename them as I said, some jackass will think its his duty to steal spots.

I dont actually care much about the slight stablemaster response delay, its the getting squelched for 2 minutes if you try to stable them too fast.

2 minutes is a long time for a griefer.

Still those are not your personal spots, they are free for all to use.
You dont own the spots you just rent them.

If this is delaying for 2minutes there's something wrong. Should be like 30 seconds, assuming you stop as soon as you are squelched. Maybe a warning needs to be added.

I have a three line bank macro that includes a buy and ban command. I invoked it once, moved accidentally closing my bank box, and then couldn't bank again for 30 seconds. Granted, I could adjust my macro, but there are many situations where that could be extremely detrimental to gameplay...
Save yourself the shame and embarrassment and just assume that if you can't understand me...you're the one who's retarded.

Just have to put them on the same line instead of separate lines.

the only reason you'd be whining about loosing spots is because you have an advantage having them. if you have an advantage that means others are at a disadvantage. you now have the same exact opportunity as any casual gamer does at getting spots, which makes things...err, fair?

in essence you're whining because things are now fair. doesn't seem fair does it?
