Skill Gain? Pwr Hour? Food? Skill Cap? Myths?

I have a few very simple questions about skill gain and the era. I know these myths were around back then but I dunno if they are now?

Is there power hour?
Do you gain more being full? Do you succeed more being full?
The closer you are to the base 100 stats, do skills gain faster?
Some skills rely on stats, do you gain better when those stats are higher?

Do you gain off of failures better than success?
Example : Taming with 0 Animal Lore versus Taming with 100 Animal Lore?
Logic : 50 taming you'll fail on a polar bear more, having more chances to gain off the one bear?

Thanks a lot! I played in a half dozen different eras and through all of them most of these were thought to exists but were never really confirmed/denied.

I'm not sure, but I don't believe so. With the obvious exception being weapon skills, dex makes you swing a wep faster, which will give you faster gains.

Depends on the skill, some gain better on failure, some on success, some it doesn't matter.

Also, Animal lore does not effect one's chance of being successful while taming, it only is used during "loyalty" checks when issuing commands.

I am still pretty new, but from what I read in the taming posts, this is different.

As it was explained, Lore makes up a small percentage of taming success check, so someone with 100 taming and 0 lore is equivalent to someone with 80 taming/100 lore as it pertains to chance of success.

Level of taming is required to attempt and lore has nothing to do with that.

Which one is correct?

As I understand it, Lore helps to control the animal only. The only check made when trying to tame is vs. animal taming.

When you attemp to control it an "orneriness check is made by comparing the creatures "tameable at" level to 80% of the masters Tame skill plus 20% of the masters Lore skill". Meaning:

Tameable at level = TA
Owner's Taming Skill = TS
Owner's Animal Lore = AL

TA checks vs. (0.8*TS)+(0.2*AL)

Meaning, an animal that requires 94 taming (a dragon, for example) with a 90 Taming, GM Lore char will be:

94 vs. (72)+(20)=92

No dice on the commanding a dragon.

Of course, I could be wrong, and all this be rubbish.
