Looking to join

Hey guys, I am looking to come here from Hybrid/Divinity. But before I join your community I would like to know a few things.

1. How is the economy(this is perhaps the most important thing to me and a main reason why I am leaving hybrid)
2. How is the PvP to PvM? Is it balanced? Does everyone just PvP? Does no one PvP?
3. Is there pixel crack(just look at a screenshot of hybrid and youll know what I mean)
4. How is the housing? are all possible lots already placed?
5. Is there the "elite" rich class on this shard?
6. Do you have to roll 13 deep for PvP if you want to have a remote chance of staying alive?
7. Are there any guilds who help new players? Show them around to places of interest, help them train, etc.
8. Is everyone a complete ass? It is more or less impossible to even say Hi to someone in Hybrid.

Is there anyone on here who came to this shard from divinity/hybrid? If so what were your reasons?

Sorry for the all the questions guys but I just don't want to get the shaft on my time investment like I did in hybrid!
I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.

Thanks!

I got banned a while ago from Divinity.
I came back to UO and didn't want to reroll on a dead shard (Divinity)

I came from divinity because of the over-inflated ego of the staff and the lack of maturity from the player base. Another thing that spurred me on would be when I logged on a few weeks ago to see glowing white stuff and oddball neon things. So far on here I have found a better player base, room for housing, a REAL economy like back in the day and most importantly a staff that actually cares and wants to take opinions from the playerbase.

1. The economy it fairly small, but stable and growing. For example, I have a vendor in the middle of nowhere, yet he still sells out every week or so.
2. I'd say theres a slight focus on pvp over pvm here, but the dungeons and good spots definately receive plenty of traffic.
3. To some degree, nothing like the OSI shards when trammel was released, but there is a market for rares and other 'useless' items.
4. There are plenty of good spots left all over the place, even some a few tiles away from guard zone.
5. Eh, can't really say. I guess anyone with a gm tamer would fall into that rich category.
6. I mainly solo when pvping, but its definitely more difficult. But I never see crew rolling around with more than 3 or 4 people. (usually 2 or 3)
7. Look for Mr. Bojangles or Martin Van Buren in game, I'd be glad to help ya get situated, can't vouch for any pure newbie guilds tho.
8. I'd say its a 50/50 ratio of asses to cool people.

This shard is definitely worth sticking with, it's active and growing, unlike most other shards.

Well... you guys have sold me. I am going to create a provo and work on a tamer as well to generate some income. Is there any way I can message Mr. Bojangles or Martin Van Buren?

Thank you everyone for your VERY fast and informative responses... didn't get a single F U noob reaction... I remember getting a lot of those a few years ago when I went to the UOG forums :O

I look forward to playing with you all.

[Insert generic asshole response]

While I hate the majority of the population, the shard is good.

Was this statement directed towards us?

Gedron / Iced Earth by any chance? If so, then yes, I think you will like it here.

So far I'm diggin this place. More people than I had anticipated which is very good. Working on my money maker, fencer. It is nice to actually be able to make money in PvM! That always bugged the hell outta me on UOG shards. So far, this shard is destroying Divinity in my eyes.

So do people still hit up the deceit bone room to finish their combat skills? I remember the wall people would form way back in the day in there haha... good times.

Sadly with free shards you won't see that because everyone has razor and at least 1 friend or multiple accounts (we're allowed 3 accounts on this server, so you can just fight yourself)

Ya good point. I never liked training wep skills with another player cause you don't get to kill stuff and get loot. I have made like 4k in the past 2 or 3 hours getting up my weapon skills just by killing small critters and weak monsters. I think that is much more productive.
