Ranger Armor Spawn
back in those days when i played UO on OSI the ranger armor used to spawn in closed chests and random mobs, but it was pretty rare.
so i want to know if it is obtainable only trough trophy points or it also spawns here on this shard?

Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
is it accurate?
Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
I am pretty positive ranger armor was never received from rare spawns. Ranger armor was first rewarded as a gift from the 1998 Christmas year. It was later derived from the new player ticket system. However, I am vaguely remember that it did in fact spawn on certain human NPCs similar to that of the black sandals, but I cannot be certain on this.
Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
Yup, I got my Ranger armor through the X-Mas gift back in 1998.
Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
Ranger armor was never a drop, daily/spawning rare. It was only given out. However, you could get miscolored leather off some NPCs (orange gorget off Bowyers was a common one).. there is a possibility you could get a green leather but it was not called "studded armor, ranger armor" (or whatever the exact name was for ranger armor, can't remember off the top of my head)

I remember the odd colored armor that spawned on certain npc's. The green studded tunics were the most common, well second to the orange gorget. I do remember farming rangers near skara for cool colored robes to cut into cloth and hoping that maybe one day I would get ranger armor.

Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
also 1/1000 npc's spawned black sandals.
Hence how black sandals appeared in the game.
I remember taking many of counts in order to try to get them.

Re: Ranger Armor Spawn
This is exactly what I remember. The orange gorget was the other peice that I remember. Slimeball the NPCs that gave black sandals didn't give murder counts at first. I can't remember exactly when it they implemented murder counts for NPC's, but I'm pretty sure it was later on possibly around or duing the UOR publish.Akanigit wrote:I remember the odd colored armor that spawned on certain npc's. The NPC's that were giving black sandals we're the Artists in Nujel'm, at least it was on Atlantic. We used a boat with a newbie archer to kill them consistantly, and eventually I traded about 13 pairs for a pair of blessed blacks. Eventually they implemented NPC's into giving murder counts, but at the time it was not that way.Faust wrote:This is exactly what I remember. The orange gorget was the other peice that I remember.
