I recently made a trasure hunter and wasn't quite sure on the understanding of the treasure maps and how they are done/completed. I appoligize for being nOObish but is my first time ever giving it a try. I have 70 maps decoded but haven't a clue as how to start my journey to the treasures. :( I would appreciate any insght or help/clues. Thank you!!! - The Hopefully One day great Treasure Hunter -

Find the specific map on this guide . . .

http://uo.stratics.com/thb/info/maparch ... ive1.shtml

. . . then find a rune library that has all the treasure map spots and recall to the spot your map is at. Mining increases dig radius.

Hello.

In addition to Kabal's input, I recomend you read over this: http://wiki.uosecondage.com/Cartography

It has a ton of useful information.

Lastly, and most importantly, to dig up the chest: dbl click a shovel, target the map, then target the ground. When you are done with your map, be sure to use an axe to destroy the chest (same as destroying anything inside your house) once it's empty, as a courtesy to fellow t-hunters who might want to dig a map in that spot after you.

No joke, seeing this back when I was learning to treasure hunt would have saved me two solid hours.

Instead of targeting the ground, if you simply target the map a second time it will start digging it up even if you aren't facing it. I found this helps when the rune isn't exactly dead-on.
