Seems like weapon skills and parry were difficulty based.
There was a while there when you couldent GM parry off rabbits and birds.. same goes for weapon skills.. I beleive that was part of the T2A era.
Difficulty based skill gains.

Re: Difficulty based skill gains.
Some old newsgroup posts point to this for parry, but I'm not sure there's any concrete info.
As for weapon skills, I think they're *supposed to* be difficulty-based here, but IMO they're not difficulty-based enough. I.E. the permissible ranges of skill from which one can gain seems to be too wide. Again though, no concrete info about this that I've found.

Re: Difficulty based skill gains.
One of the first things I noticed here is that skill gain, combat in particular, is much easier to gain and I no longer have to find the correct opponents to suit my skill level while raising it. This was a bit disappointing for me and made me feel like grandmaster weapons and tactics was not so much of an achievement. I have never played any other era emulation servers and I just knew this was off the first few days playing.
