UO assist macros in wiki?
I'm trying to figure out what exact program is being used for these macros, such as the one here listed in the skill gain section for resisting spells.
http://wiki.uosecondage.com/Resisting_spells
Razor is the only allowable macro program and this certainly doesn't look anything like a recorded macro would look in razor, unlike the skill gain section for the Evaluating Intelligence article in the wiki posting.php?mode=post&f=42
Anyway, it USED TO BE that you didn't take any damage in town when casting spells on yourself, but it was found out that this was not era accurate and changed. I was planning on doing this to gain resist, oh well can't anymore. I guess I'll have to also put a greater healing part in my macro as well.

Hmm, so what am I missing? When I record with razor it doesn't show me !loop for example, where does that code come from?iamreallysquall wrote:thats just a complicated razor macro its more powerfull then you may think and its the code and \\ are comments
Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
You're doing it wrong tbh. Go to the Macros folder in the folder where you installed Razor and create a new text file. Name it "resist.macro" and copy-paste the code from the wiki into that file and save. After restarting Razor you should have a new macro called "resist" which does exactly what that code tells it to.
Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
Is there a list of macros? I have no idea how to make one but it would be nice to have one say for chopping wood (lumberjacking) so I don't have to dbl click my axe then the tree each time. Also for crafting bows so I don't have to click around either.
Thanks!

Turn your attention to Razor, the program you (hopefully) use to launch UO.

I'm still not sure what you mean. The point is my razor macro code looks nothing like that code. What difference does it make whether it looks like it does when I record it in razor (and it works- that's all I care about) I'm just where that code comes from and why it looks that way, since I've been told it does come from razor.oinasz wrote:You're doing it wrong tbh. Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
If you have recorded a macro, razor saves it as a .macro file in its own Macros folder. The stuff you see in razor and the code from the wiki (or macros folder) is one and the same, only one is meant for people to read and the other is meant for razor to read. My point was that if you want to import a macro with code you found on the wiki, you'll have to do it differently than when recording it yourself.
Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
Thanks for the info!
I recorded my first couple and was easier then I thought, but...
Question...
I did one for fletching bows. Works great untill my stack of logs is low and I refill them and the macro dosen't recognize them now. Is there something I need to add so it recognizes any new logs or something?
What's the loop do?
I noticed too that when lumberjacking it doesn't always work as quick as I'd like and I have to hit my macro keys (alt-Z) and target the tree a couple times before it takes effect. Is that normal?
Thanks!

Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
Would have to see the macro to get a better sense of why it's "hanging up". As far as recognizing new logs, try to stay with at least one of the "old" batch in your pack, and when you grab more, drag them directly to your pack so they stack. That is the only way for razor to recongize new logs in your pack. If you are not near other logs, you can also change it to target by type...but that CAN bring a whole other set of complications if there are other logs around.

Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
I wonder what the best way to raise resist is. I know first use fire field and run through it (doing damage unfortunately, but it wasn't always this way in town was it?) I will be buying the first 30 or so points from a vendor, what should I do thereafter? Do you have to keep using higher level spells to gain more resist (similiar to having to wear more armor to have to gain more stealth) or could I just use magic arrow to bring myself from 0 to GM resist, if I wished?
Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
Resist is directly affected by damage, so yes, for higher levels you need higher damage spells.

Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
It would help to get a chart of what spells you should cast on yourself to gain resist, for example (just making up spells) 0-10 magic arrow, 10-20 harm, etc. Right now my resist is 14.5, don't know, what spell I should cast on myself right now, and when I should switch to another. Also, I have 80 magery and almost GM Eval Int (which I probably should have started without before gaining in resist) I could lower that if I needed to, by buying skills to reduce my skill in Eval Int since I'm at the cap.Pirul wrote:Resist is directly affected by damage, so yes, for higher levels you need higher damage spells.
Re: UO assist macros in wiki?
From 14, go buy to close to 30 from an NPC, it will only cost you 150gps or so. Then do the fire field up to 55. From there, do lightning to around 60, then ebolt to around 80, then flamestrike all the way to GM.
